Week 10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Guide: Luke Musgrave, DeMario Douglas, and More

Published on

Week 10 sees some of the league’s premier fantasy assets on a bye with the Bengals, Cowboys, and Chiefs all getting the week off. Injuries from Week 9 have added some value to players that were not even on the radar before Sunday’s slate.

Here are our top waiver wire picks for Week 10:

Luke Musgrave

Tucker Kraft, the TE2 in PPR leagues, sustained what the Packers fear is a torn ACL on Sunday. His absence for the remainder of the season elevates Luke Musgrave from irrelevant fantasy asset to a key waiver wire target.

Musgrave has only been targeted seven times this season. He’s been a non-factor in the receiving game over the last two seasons, but he had 352 receiving yards on 3.1 receptions per game during his rookie year in 2023.

DeMario Douglas

Kayshon Boutte left New England’s win over the Falcons with a hamstring injury. It seems likely Boutte will be on the shelf for at least one week, possibly more. In Boutte’s absence, DeMario Douglas had four receptions for 100 receiving yards and a touchdown on Sunday.

Only rostered in 0.4% of NFL Fantasy leagues, Douglas is going to be a popular option for WR-needy managers in Week 10. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Rashee Rice, and Xavier Worthy are on a bye.

J.J. McCarthy

Following a mysterious injury absence, J.J. McCarthy returned in Week 9 to lead the Vikings to an underdog road win over the Lions. He only had 143 passing yards but had two passing scores and a rushing touchdown.

Most notably, McCarthy looked far more comfortable running an NFL offense. He was sacked five times, but that didn’t seem to faze him. The targets were shared around, with the second-year quarterback calmly working through his progressions.

Week 10 gives McCarthy a chance to put up big numbers on a depleted Ravens’ defense.

Colston Loveland

Scorer of the game-winning touchdown in a remarkable Bears’ win, Colston Loveland put up 29.80 fantasy points with six receptions, 118 yards, and two receiving scores. Cole Kmet had already seen his role decrease, and he likely suffered a concussion on Sunday.

Loveland was going to take on a bigger role in the passing game even if Kmet was available. If Kmet misses time, Loveland’s snap count and targets should increase dramatically in the next couple of weeks.

The Bears are facing the Giants in Week 10. New York was torched by the Niners on Sunday.

Kyle Monangai

Kyle Monangai is available in 53% of NFL Fantasy leagues. That’s going to skyrocket to over 80% after this week’s waiver claims following his 176 rushing yards and three receptions on Sunday.

Plenty of managers rushed to pick up Monangai when De’Andre Swift was ruled out. Their speed was rewarded with 22.80 fantasy points.

Chicago is facing a Giants defense that has struggled against running backs all year. The Bears don’t need to rush Swift back, and there’s no guarantee he will be RB1 on his return. Monangai was explosive and this could be a repeat of Rico Dowdle’s leap from backup to first choice.
