NFL Week 7 Power Rankings: Eagles Bounce Back, Commanders Slide, Chiefs on Top

Published on

Week 7 lived up to the NFL’s reputation for wild, unpredictable football. As we near the midway point of the season, here’s how the league stacks up heading into Week 8.

32. Tennessee Titans (1-6)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Tennessee is back at the bottom. The firing of Brian Callahan didn’t seem to help, as the Titans were dominated by New England 31-13.

31. New York Jets (0-7)

Weekly Change: Up 1

The Jets remain winless after another frustrating performance. The defense continues to compete, but the offense was lifeless again, totaling only six points against Carolina.

30. Las Vegas Raiders (2-5)

Weekly Change: Down 2

Las Vegas was demolished by Kansas City in a 31-0 blowout. The Raiders were outgained 434-95 in total yards, and it is hard to imagine this team recovering soon from that kind of defeat.

29. New Orleans Saints (1-6)

Weekly Change: Neutral

The Saints were handled easily in Chicago. They remain competitive each week but simply lack the overall talent to hang with stronger teams.

28. Miami Dolphins (1-6)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Miami was awful in Cleveland. Tua Tagovailoa threw multiple interceptions, and the defense was gashed by a weak Browns offense. Mike McDaniel may have only days left on the sideline in South Beach.

27. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)

Weekly Change: Up 3

Cincinnati picked up a crucial win over Pittsburgh. Joe Flacco looked like the steady veteran presence this team needed, throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

26. Cleveland Browns (2-5)

Weekly Change: Neutral

Cleveland rolled past Miami behind rookie breakout star Quinshon Judkins, who scored three touchdowns. The defense remains elite, and if the run game continues to produce like this, the Browns will be competitive in most games.

25. New York Giants (2-5)

Weekly Change: Neutral

The Giants lost a heartbreaker 33-32 but continue to see progress from quarterback Jaxson Dart. His growth this season is the most important development for New York’s future.

24. Arizona Cardinals (2-5)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Arizona continues to play tough but can’t finish. They compete every week, but at some point moral victories need to turn into real ones.

23. Baltimore Ravens (1-5)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Baltimore should get Lamar Jackson back next week, which will be huge. With Jackson healthy, the Ravens can start stacking wins again. But is the hole too big to climb out of?

22. Carolina Panthers (4-3)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Carolina escaped New York with a 13-6 win over the Jets. The defense continues to carry this team, and they are quietly piling up wins because of it.

21. Minnesota Vikings (3-3)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Minnesota needs better quarterback play to stay relevant. Carson Wentz threw two costly interceptions this week, which ultimately swung the game in Philadelphia’s favor.

20. Houston Texans (2-4)

Weekly Change: Down 2

Houston’s defense continues to shine, but the offense remains a major concern. Unless this unit finds a spark soon, the Texans will remain stuck in neutral.

19. Washington Commanders (3-4)

Weekly Change: Down 8

Last week I said Washington would be fine, but I was wrong. The defense has completely fallen apart, and now Jayden Daniels is hurt. After last year’s NFC title run, this season is turning into a disappointing step back.

18. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)

Weekly Change: Down 4

Jacksonville has lost almost all of its early-season momentum. Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. have been underwhelming, leading to inconsistent offense. Both need to elevate their play if the Jags want to stay in the AFC race.

17. Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1)

Weekly Change: Up 5

If the Dallas defense can be even average from game to game, this team has a real chance to make the playoffs. The offense remains one of the league’s best, and CeeDee Lamb’s return gives them even more firepower.

16. Chicago Bears (4-2)

Weekly Change: Up 3

Chicago keeps turning heads under first-year coach Ben Johnson. The defense has taken a big step forward, and Caleb Williams looks far more comfortable in year two, keeping the offense steady and efficient.

15. Atlanta Falcons (3-3)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Atlanta suffered a tough loss to the 49ers. After beating Buffalo last week, this was a big letdown. The Falcons seem destined to hover around the middle of the pack all year due to their frustrating inconsistency.

14. Los Angeles Chargers (4-3)

Weekly Change: Neutral

The Chargers are starting to unravel. The offensive line can’t protect, the defense has regressed, and the injuries keep piling up. The time to right the ship is now, or this season could quickly slip away.

13. San Francisco 49ers (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 5

San Francisco keeps winning despite endless injuries. Kyle Shanahan has to be considered the Coach of the Year frontrunner with how he’s kept this team rolling.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Pittsburgh’s defense was shredded by Joe Flacco in a 33-31 loss to Cincinnati. That simply cannot happen for a team that prides itself on physical defense. A massive showdown with Green Bay awaits.

11. New England Patriots (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 2

New England took care of business against an inferior opponent. Drake Maye continued his strong play, and the defense dominated Tennessee from start to finish.

10. Denver Broncos (5-2)

Weekly Change: Down 1

Denver pulled off a miraculous comeback, scoring 33 points in the fourth quarter to stun the Giants. Bo Nix was clutch, and this kind of win could give the Broncos serious momentum for the rest of the season.

9. Seattle Seahawks (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Seattle cruised past Houston behind another strong defensive performance, even without Devon Witherspoon and Julian Love. Sam Darnold continues to look comfortable leading this offense.

8. Green Bay Packers (4-1-1)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Green Bay escaped Arizona thanks to a monster game from Micah Parsons, who tallied three sacks. The upcoming matchup with Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers should be must-watch football.

7. Buffalo Bills (4-2)

Weekly Change: Down 3

Buffalo slides slightly but remains one of the AFC’s elite. The defense is steady, and the offense still has enough firepower to beat anyone. A matchup with Carolina next week will be an interesting test.

6. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Philadelphia’s offense finally looked like itself again. Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith were electric, showing what this team can do when they click.

5. Indianapolis Colts (6-1)

Weekly Change: Up 1

The Colts’ offense continues to dominate. A 38-point outburst against the Chargers looked almost effortless. At this point in the season, I think it is finally safe to say: the Colts are a legitimate contender.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)

Weekly Change: Down 3

For the first time all year, injuries seem to have caught up with Tampa Bay. The offense sputtered badly, managing only nine points against a depleted Lions secondary.

3. Los Angeles Rams (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 2

The Rams and Matthew Stafford made it look easy against Jacksonville, putting up 35 points without even needing Puka Nacua.

2. Detroit Lions (5-2)

Weekly Change: Up 2

Detroit’s defense was dominant, holding Tampa Bay to just nine points. If that unit keeps playing like this, the Lions will emerge as the NFC’s best team by season’s end.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)

Weekly Change: Up 1

Kansas City got Rashee Rice back and looked unstoppable once again. The defense completely smothered Las Vegas, allowing only 94 yards in a 31-0 shutout.
