NFL Week 10 Takeaways: Best Games, Top Performers, and Betting Tips

Games of the Week

Colts 31, Falcons 25

The Colts have looked a little less bulletproof over the past couple of weeks, but they still managed to pull out an overtime win against Atlanta on Sunday.

Daniel Jones looked better than last week, though still not quite back to his early-season form. Jonathan Taylor, however, had a career day, rushing for 244 yards and three touchdowns, plus three catches for 42 receiving yards. Taylor was the Colts’ entire offense. Michael Penix Jr. and Drake London did what they could to keep the Falcons close, but the better team made the big plays in OT.

Patriots 28, Buccaneers 23

Drake Maye and Baker Mayfield both looked like the star quarterbacks they have been all season, but neither was the main story in this one.

Rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson had his breakout performance, rushing for 147 yards and two touchdowns, showing exactly what the Patriots saw in him coming out of Ohio State. His two 50-plus-yard touchdown runs were the difference, as Baker’s three touchdowns couldn’t make up for Tampa Bay’s lack of a ground game.

Texans 36, Jaguars 29

This divisional matchup created more questions than answers, and both teams leave wondering what’s next.

For Houston, the big question is whether C.J. Stroud is still the right guy. Davis Mills looked sharp in relief, throwing for 292 yards and two touchdowns while spreading the ball around more than Stroud has in recent weeks.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, has to ask whether its first-half success was inflated. Trevor Lawrence continues to struggle with consistency, and if that trend doesn’t change soon, the Jags could tumble quickly.

Top Player Performances

Jared Goff, QB, Lions

Goff often gets overlooked in Detroit’s balanced offense, but he was outstanding against Washington, throwing for 320 yards and three touchdowns on 75 percent passing. It was a reminder of just how important he is to the Lions’ success.

Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts

We mentioned him earlier, but it bears repeating. Taylor was unstoppable against Atlanta, averaging over seven yards per carry on 32 touches, including an 83-yard score that showcased both his speed and power.

De’Von Achane, RB, Dolphins

Achane was the spark behind Miami’s upset of Buffalo. He ran for 174 yards and two touchdowns, adding six catches for 51 receiving yards. Achane continues to prove he’s one of the league’s most complete backs.

Brian Daboll Is Out So What Now for the Giants?

Brian Daboll has officially been let go by the Giants. Some say it took too long, while others feel he was dealt a tough hand with all the injuries. Either way, this franchise is headed in the wrong direction.

Daboll’s questionable decisions, including the concussion controversy earlier this season, sealed his fate. The coaching search will reportedly be led by GM Joe Schoen, which raises eyebrows given that many believe Schoen deserves just as much blame. Expect the first list of head coach candidates to surface soon, giving us a better sense of where New York plans to go from here.

Betting Strategy Adjustments After Week 10

Give the Patriots Some Love

The Patriots are quietly finding their rhythm with Maye under center. Their win over Tampa Bay showed real progress. Keep an eye out for value spots with New England, especially as small underdogs on the moneyline.

Show the Bills Some Concern

Buffalo remains one of the toughest teams to trust. The loss to Miami was another reminder of their inconsistency. Heading into their next matchup with Tampa Bay, the Bills should not be viewed as a reliable favorite. Approach with caution.

Jaguars May Be Due to Regress

Jacksonville’s record looks better than their performances suggest. They’ve been living on close wins and lucky breaks. Expect some regression in the second half, and tread carefully betting them against quality teams.
